 At the end of 2013 Badjonni and I were working upstairs at Forge Warehouse preparing the room to be used as a studio and workspace for film makers and photographers. The walls were covered in patchy paint work so we began with a new coat of paint in some areas. I got distracted and ran off for a little to paint the crow mural that you see upon entry at Forge. By the time I was done Badjonni had a finished the wall he was working on and discovered we had a small amount of left over paint. We couldn't let it go to waste so we started circling it in trails over the floor. All that work many months ago has now become the backdrop to the work of various film makers and photographers. I like his work on the flame emissions spewing from the dragons mouth.  Helping someone achieve their vision through film is at it's most enjoyable when it comes to realization and the job is done. Writer for "Meanstreak" Benjamin Roberts rang me before the job talking about gnomes being tortured by a seemingly lovely 1950's housewife with a secret penchant for torture and discipline. It was a well structured script that was filmed within a day at Forge Warehouse. I've been running into Port Adelaide artist Ned Bajic a bit lately. I really wanted to introduce you to his work if you haven't already seen it. It's playful, often three dimensional and in the case of the artwork below takes some influence from one of my favourite artists Van Gogh. We're teaming up with a group of artists for a SALA exhibition at Forge Warehouse called "Develop". It's part of the 7 Rooms St. Vincent Street Exhibitions starting August 1st.

 I recently took on a film job that included props such as gaffa tape, boiling water, chains, hammers, saws and gnomes. Sound interesting? I can't give much more away because at this point in time my hands are tied by producers and such. However I did sneak this little screen grab out of the editing room today so you can all get a taste of what is soon to be released. Visit again soon for the full video release.
 Here's a video I put together for The Hushes. As an overlay I flashed an LED light in front of the camera. Yet again I've used the studio space at Forge Creative Warehouse in Port Adelaide. We had about half an hour of time up our sleeves to run off a couple of lip syncs so the base footage was pretty simple but to create a little playfulness the dancing lights were added. Given more time I would have made the lights sync up better to vignette the focal point of each shot but the random positioning does overlay quite well most of the time. Check it out : Started filming my first hip hop music video today. We're doing a scene where the subject is standing over a burning 44 gallon drum fire, but had to simulate the fire in the studio without the fire. Cut a bunch of holes in a sheet of black card and moved it in front of a spotlight. Because of the depth of field it blurs out in the background and gives the effect of a burning fire. Cool stuff I've been working on a large canvas once a week down at Forge Creative Warehouse at Port Adelaide. It's good to have a long term piece that you chip away at slowly and have plenty of time in between to digest what you are actualyl doing. This piece is all experiment. I keep layering it up, putting down new colours and applying the paint in different ways each time. 
Port Adelaide has a new creative space, with the official opening said to be the 7th of December. It's a combination of versatile spaces including a gallery and set of photographic studios. facebook page : www.facebook.com/ForgeWarehouse
