I finished the Bearcat sculptures I have been making over the last month and I sat them on the table in my outdoor area. The sun was shining down on them casting a highlight onto their upturned heads. As a group it made them look like they all were looking to catch the rays of the sun. I've now aptly titled them The Sunseeking Bearcats.
The process of clay sculpture gives you a lot of surprises. With a painting you see the piece evolve through every step and there aren't as many surprises but with kiln firing you have to wait to see how the glazes will turn out. Here are some recent pieces at various stages of the process.
