Part of the fun of making music videos is working with the client to create a script that fulfills their vision. In the creative process you often diverge and I've found this can happen due to having to choose higher quality footage over footage that belongs on the cutting room floor as they say. The editing process is instrumental in building the path of the video and in the case of Speekup's "Living Conditions" I was able to edit as we shot the film. We met every couple of weeks for 1-2 hours of filming, which upon completion I would go back to the computer and load in the footage. Working this way was unique in comparison to the last few clips I've made in that we could assess the script as we progressed. It's dependent on the client's time constraints of course but fortunately in this case we had the luxury of time on our side.
